Clouds and green hills

I drove back to Rio Vista today to pick up the black wool from yesterday’s shearing. It had been left in the barn for me.

No one was around. The shearing crew has moved on.

Here are the bales of white wool.

This is a beautiful time of year in the hills of Solano County and I am always fascinated by these huge windmills.

It’s hard to realize how large these are until you see the truck at the base of this one.

  1. I went to a Raptor workshop at Rush Ranch last weekend. The field guide said that a major problem with the windmills is that they kill quite a few raptors!

  2. Robin,
I, too, love(d) Solano County but am now wonderfully ensconced with Clark County here in Washington State. There are many thinks I miss there but the pollon isn’t one of them.
